The objectives of WP 4 are to integrate and benchmark the developed models and the optimization methods. The models and methods developed in WP 1 – 3 are used to perform optimal conceptual and preliminary design of bottom-fixed support structures with environmental data from existing wind turbines and wind farm sites. The models and methods are also used to propose novel designs for future state-of-the-art large wind turbines (>7 MW) at all relevant water depths including depths 50m+. Performance studies are a central part of this WP since the optimal design problems to be solved are of significant industrial size.
